• Details:  Such an adorable figurine!  It is an Eurasian Blue Tit Bird on a log or branch.  Very realistic looking with all the blue and yellow markings that make this a much loved European bird and wonderful collector's item. There is a small piece of the original foil label still attached, another piece that has torn off, but we've saved it for you.  The 2 pieces together reads: "Anglica Porcelain Foreign".  This helped us to identify this as an antique figurine and narrowed it down to it possibly being European, (since this bird is primarily seen in Europe, North Africa, and part of the Middle East), and the mark "Foreign" which was required starting with the McKinley Tariff Act of 1890.  It is beautiful and worthy of a special spot in your home and heart.  A very special piece for a bird lover or figurine collector.

*From 1893 to 1923, the USA signed the McKinley Tariff Act of 1890 which required all imports to be marked with the word "Foreign" to indicate it was not produced domestically. The requirement was later amended to specify the actual country of origin instead of just "Foreign".

The Eurasian Blue Tit is a small bird, easy to recognize because of its unique blue and yellow plumage.  They are non-migratory birds, most commonly seen in southern Europe, also in North Africa, and part of the Middle East.  They live in woodlands among the oak trees.  They mostly eat insects and seeds.
