Easter is a wonderful time to get people together for portraits. Here’s what you need to know to get ready.
Let’s look at a little of the history of how people tend to spend their Easter for portrait opportunity clues. The most popular Easter Sunday activities include cooking a holiday meal (56%), visiting family and friends (50%), going to church (43%), or planning an Easter egg hunt (34%). All of these activities involve togetherness.
Put your creative thinking caps on and tap into the gathering of family. That opportunity means families will be together and what better time to update their family portrait? Regardless if it’s a portrait of the kids or the whole family, Easter offers a significant opportunity to tap into togetherness.
Get creative with your sessions. Now is a great time to create something fun to promote a set that is totally unique to your studio? Maybe it’s a mini-theme session where it’s a quick bunny-theme session for the kids? Or perhaps it’s more artsy where you create an experience and have special backgrounds or locations that allow you to tell a story in a book?
Doing a more specialized session that allows you to create a children’s book parents can read to them at night that features them would be very unique! During the day it is on display as a treasure in your living room. Check out Marathon’s Bella Layflat Albums here.
Also, what if you created a coloring book as a product from that child’s session? Can you imagine showing up at the grandparent’s and having the kids color pictures of themselves you created and converted to coloring book images that they can give to Grandma and Grandpa? Very memorable!
What if you gave the grandparents a Viewmaster with images of the family and kids in it? Check out this source for one here.
And that Easter Egg hunt? What if you put little sticker images of the kids and family in some of the eggs that they hunt? Keep it a surprise and enjoy the reaction when they open that egg.
Of course, there’s the Easter basket. Remember, Easter gifts are great for anyone and any age. Portraits, along with chocolates & flowers, make wonderful and memorable gifts.
So put your creative brains to work and start planning what you will offer and get your samples and marketing materials together now. Easter is early this year – March 31st!
